A home-based food service is a rare business to come across.
My wife and I purchased our home in November 2014. After repainting almost every square inch and some other much needed changes, it finally felt like a home. One of the last spaces to update was where the Garden Grill kitchen now resides. Before and after remodel.
After catering several monthly wellness events at the Community Health and Education Center (CHEC), guests and other customers of the Garden Grill Cafe requested that the food be made available on a regular basis and we went to work opening our business - Garden Grill.
Obtaining a permit for a home-based business is quite a process. After speaking with our neighbors and working with our town council, we were permitted to start our dream!
We were blessed to have a great area to work with but some modifications were needed to meet our state's guidelines for preparing food in a residential home. After a lot of sweat and many late nights we finally finished and have opened for business!
